We at Sharma On Governance advocate for a safe, supportive and respectful environment within and outside the charity sector.

New guidance from the Charity Commission on how to respond to hostile environments has been published:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/how-charities-can-respond-to-the-current-hostile-environment

This emphasizes safeguarding, serious incident reporting and responding to threats and abuse. If your charity is facing hostility due to the current climates political or otherwise, this is a must read for being prepared.

We appreciate it will be a difficult time for those subjected to this behaviour- the guidance contains support resources as well as highlighting relevant guidance. We encourage you to use these.

For those needing to speak to someone the Samaritans helpline is open 24/7 on 116 123.
